During a thirty-year career as a writer, editor and designer for books, magazines and exhibits, I enjoyed the challenge of balancing words with images to create clear messages and strong visuals. After retirement, I began to take classes and workshops in drawing and painting. Instructors have included Luanna Winner (Raleigh, pastel and portraiture) and Patricia Cole-Ferullo (Tryon, water media and abstract).
Since moving to western North Carolina in 2001, I have been a member of the Rutherford County Visual Artists Guild, Tryon Painters and Sculptors, and the Art League of Henderson County. Most recently, I have begun to print scarves combining my pen and ink drawing with my abstract paintings.
